Sea Isle Beach Replenishment

According to officials, beach replenishment work in the city of Sea Isle is anticipated to begin on June 1. About 1.86 million cubic yards of sand must be dredged, pumped, and placed from two borrow areas-one off Corsons Inlet and the other roughly three miles off Sea Isle-as part of the $21.6 million project, which also involves work in the nearby Strathmere district of Upper Township. The Philadelphia District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, and the local governments collaborated on the project.

Spirit Airlines' Bond Rating Impact

According to Fitch Ratings, Spirit Airlines' decision to cease operations earlier this month may result in a worse bond rating for the South Jersey Transportation Authority. Because of the decrease in passenger traffic brought on by the airline's collapse, the ratings group has placed the authority in a Rating Watch Negative. According to Fitch, a rating watch denotes an increased likelihood of a rating change. After failing to reach a deal on a government bailout, Spirit shut down on May 2.

Borgota Fireworks

On July 3, fireworks will be displayed at 9:30 p.m. at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. Borgata's surface lot will be open for public observation beginning at 8:30 p.m. "Fireworks at Borgata have become a distinctive tradition for our property and a memorable event within our summer roster," stated Anthony Caratozzolo, the casino's vice president of hospitality. "This event turns the entire property into a memorable occasion and a communal celebration. It's a time when visitors come back year after year to make enduring holiday memories.

AC Man Pleads Guilty To Burglary, Theft, Assault Charges

Jack Ruth, a.k.a., Eugene Bolan, 54, of Atlantic City, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary, third-degree theft, third-degree possession with intent to distribute CDS, and simple assault. On August 29, 2022, officers of the Atlantic City Police Department were dispatched Caesar's Hotel and Casino in reference to a stolen motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers were met by the victim, a delivery driver whose motor vehicle was left running in the valet area while making a delivery. The suspect, Jack Ruth, was observed on surveillance committing the theft and arrested on a later date. Sentencing is scheduled for June 18th.
