Lars Larson
Lars got his start in radio at age 16 spinning records and reading news, sports and weather at the edge of a cow pasture in Tillamook, Oregon on The Mighty 1590 KTIL.
40+ years later, he’s only moved 75 miles east to Portland, and light years to “the Right”. The Emmy and Peabody award winner delivers six hours of radio backed by four decades of experience as a radio and television journalist. Six hours of daily prep keep The Lars Larson Show on top of the news cycle and top-of-mind for listeners across the country.
Along the way, Lars has worked for more than a dozen radio stations and five television stations. Today, Lars holds down FM News 101 KXL from 12pm – 4pm PST through Alpha Media’s Radio Northwest Network. His local talk show airs on over 20 stations in the Pacific Northwest; the biggest local talk radio audience in the region. The national Lars Larson Show, syndicated by Compass Media Networks, launched in September 2003 and can be heard on over 150 affiliates nation-wide. 15 years later, the show continues to grow. Lars currently has multi-year contracts with both Compass Media Networks and Alpha Media.
Much to his wife Tina’s delight, Lars has picked up more than 70 awards from the Associated Press, Society of Professional Journalists, the National Press Club, including two Emmy’s and a Peabody for his reporting and documentaries.

Steve Saffier
Cars in are my blood...and I make no apologies about it. It was inherited from father who grew up in the little country town (at the time) of Warrington, Pennsylvania. People were more self-sufficient back then and it didn't hurt that the Holbert family lived close by. Dad got involved with wrenching and racing and that passion never left him. I was 10 years old when I worked in the auto parts store he had in the mid-70's. I loved everything about the place - the smell, the parts, the cars.
In 1982, my parents helped me purchase a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. It was my dream car at the time and to own it and drive it to high school each day was surreal, to say the least. I kept it for 10 years and sold it only so I could get another dream car...a 1987 Buick Grand National. Dad was always a Buick man so it brought me great pleasure to give him a ride in that car a few months before he passed away in 1993.
I've now been through a few GMC Syclones and Typhoons, been part of several car clubs, car shows, forums, and projects over the years. With the advent of YouTube and growing popularity and accessibility, I now enter the realm of "creator" and hope to provide fresh and entertaining content for the radio show that will be supported by video and other social media.
I also enjoy helping people with their cars - buying, selling, cleaning- and I'm always seeking barn finds (any left?!). I've lived in Las Vegas, Utah, California (cars!), and now back home in Pennsylvania and happy to have my show on down the show on 1400 WOND!
