Walter Sterling

THE YOUNGEST. Walter was the youngest New York City scheduled talk show host in history. He hosted a how on WXLO FM (Now 98.7 KISS FM) at the age of 20. He did that again at WNWS FM now HOT 97.1) The weekly show focused on subjects and opinions of interest to young adults such as how to pay for college and how to get a job.

Walter Sterling was the youngest Executive Vice President in the history of NBC. He was put in charge of the NBC FM stations at the age of 26. "I was not popular among my executive peers and I don't blame them says Sterling."

At NBC he presented his long held belief that there was a format "between" dreary ballads and hard rock. The format would feature Current adult oriented hits by artists such as Neil Diamond and Barbara Streisand and oldies for pace by the Beatles, Beach Boys and MOTOWN. The name of the format became ADULT CONTEMPORARY.

After NBC he lead the ABC Radio networks for several years before becoming a sought after consultant. He worked on site at Sirius Satellite radio for eight years and made the invitation to HOWARD STERN to come to the new medium.

Nine years ago, Chris Oliviero EVP of Programming for CBS asked Sterling to host a talk show once again. Now you can hear him locally on WOND!

Dan Klein

Dan Klein’s road to the radio airways was a ‘long and winding” one. He began his journey at the Press of Atlantic City, where he quickly set records in sales for small space advertising, and received the New Jersey Press Association 3rd place award for ‘Best Small Space Ad Series” in 1990-91. Dan was also instrumental in launching the new Entertainment Weekly at the Press called, “At The Shore.”

After that, Dan went on to publish his own monthly magazine “South Jersey Insider.” That was until the housing crisis pulled the rug out from underneath the Atlantic City market in 2009, and “The Insider” went with it. During his time publishing the magazine each month, over thirteen years, Dan made entrances into radio and TV. First, getting a chance to host a Saturday afternoon radio show from 1-4pm, right after the late, great Ed Hitzel, and his very popular restaurant show, “Table for 1,” right here on News Talk 1400 WOND, and then doing a weekend entertainment segment on the old News Channel 40 TV. Known locally as TV-40.

Dan got his start in radio by doing a weekly bit on Hitzel’s show called “Klein’s Finds.” A two to three minute segment on some of the new hot spots and food items Dan came across from week to week. The GM at the time, Dick Taylor, liked Dan’s enthusiasm on the air, and offered him the time-slot after Ed. Even as Dan enjoyed his weekly gig, he was always hoping to somehow get a shot at a regular daily show. Not an easy thing to come by in Southern New Jersey, or anywhere.

And then, in 2015, a regular night time talk spot opened up from 8-10pm, and Dan jumped in and never looked back. Then tragedy struck the airways in 2018, when longtime popular afternoon host, Bob Burns passed away suddenly, and unexpectedly. Dan was asked to man the spot, and as is his style and demeanor, stated on his first show, “shoes as big as Bob’s cannot be filled. He was Bob Burns and he was bigger than life. All I can do is honor Bob by bringing it everyday as he did". And that’s what he’s been doing ever since on Monday - Friday from 2-4pm.

In addition to currently hosting his own show, Dan operates what can only be described as a “Tradigital” Advertising Agency, providing a whole host of traditional, and digital, advertising services to clients utilizing Longport Media’s vast tool’s and expertise, to execute successful advertising and marketing campaigns.

Dominic Carter

Though best known for his current work as a television news journalist, Carter began his broadcast career in 1988 as a radio reporter. He spent most of that year covering Jesse Jackson's presidential campaign. Later, his work as a radio reporter brought him a measure of prominence when he interviewed Nelson Mandela during the latter's trip to New York.
In 1992, Carter made the move to television as a reporter and anchor with the newly launched New York 1, a Time Warner station in New York. Carter's position as host of the news and commentary show Inside City Hall gave him access to a wider array of interviewees, including Cardinal John Joseph O'Connor, former president Bill Clinton, South African president Nelson Mandela, Mexican president Vicente Fox, former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, Hillary Clinton, and congressman Charles B. Rangel. In 2006, Carter made national news as the moderator of a series of statewide debates in New York State, which included then-senator Hillary Clinton. During the course of those debates, Clinton acknowledged for the first time that she was considering a candidacy for the presidency.

George Noory

George Noory, host of the nationally syndicated program, Coast to Coast AM, says if he weren’t a national radio talk show host he’d be in politics. Heard by millions of listeners, Coast To Coast AM airs on nearly 620 stations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Guam.

While hosting The Nighthawk, a wildly successful, late-night program on KTRS in St. Louis, Noory was recruited by Premiere Radio Networks to guest host on Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell. He became the permanent host of the phenomenally successful over-night program on January 1, 2003, following Bell’s retirement. Since then, Noory’s audience has continued to grow.

Noory captivates program listeners with his discussions of paranormal phenomena, time travel, alien abductions, conspiracies and all things curious and unexplained. He is driven, he has said, by the desire to solve the great mysteries of our time. From his first days as a radio broadcaster he says, “I’ve wanted to cover stories that the mainstream media never touch—the unusual, the paranormal and things like that. I learned that broadcast was the best business for exploring these issues, and I’ve been doing it for 33 years.”

He dates his interest in these matters to a book by Walter Sullivan, We Are Not Alone, that his mother gave him when he was 13. He was hooked.

Prior to his late-night show on KTRS, Noory had an extensive broadcast career. He started in radio at WCAR-AM in Detroit where his first-ever interview was with nuclear physicist and UFO expert Stanton Friedman. From 1974-1978, he served as news producer and executive news producer at WJBK-TV. At age 28, he became the youngest major market news director in the country at KMSP-TV in Minneapolis.

Noory was also the director of news planning and development at KSTP-TV in Minneapolis, was news director at KSDK-TV in St. Louis and the recipient of three Emmy Awards while a news executive.

Noory released his first book in 2006. "Worker In The Light: Unlock Your Five Senses And Liberate Your Limitless Potential," co-written by best-selling author William J. Birnes, is Noory’s revolutionary guide to spiritual enlightenment, human empowerment, ultimate productivity and absolute happiness. Noory and Birnes co-authored a follow up in 2009 entitled Journey to the Light, in which they present amazing first-hand accounts of how ordinary people changed their own lives, transcended their doubts and fears, and unlocked the secrets to their spiritual growth. In October 2011, Noory released his third book, Talking To The Dead. Co-written by Rosemary Ellen Guiley, a leading expert on the paranormal and supernatural, the book explores the colorful history and personalities behind spirit communications, weaving together spirituality, metaphysics, science and technology. Noory, along with Richard Belzer and David Wayne, released "Someone is Hiding Something: What Happened to Malaysia Airlines Flight 370?" in February 2015. Scrutinizing the theories the media and politicians claim are the "most likely" reasons the plane crashed, they argue that if a year after a huge Boeing 777 has gone missing, and there’s still no sign of it whatsoever, it’s time to think outside the box.

In December 2012, GAIAM TV launched "Beyond Belief with George Noory," a new TV show exploring the unknown and mysteries of the universe. The one-hour, weekly series features Noory’s informative, investigative and dynamic conversations, as well as some of his favorite guests from the radio program. Taped at GAIAM studios in Boulder, Colo., Beyond Belief with George Noory is available exclusively at beyondbelief.com. Noory has also appeared on the History Channel's Ancient Aliens, SYFY, The Larry King Show and numerous others.

He was born, raised and educated in Detroit. He has three children and six grandchildren. He served nine years in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

In 1972, Blavat purchased a nightclub in Margate and named it "Memories"… and for the last 50 years generations of us have gone to dance, celebrate the music and party with Jerry. He always felt that music brought people together and if you ever spent a summer night at Memories in Margate, you know that to be true. The Geator always said to “keep on rockin…because you only rock once”. Well Jerry…rocked his entire life. We love you Jerry and we thank you for your music, for your friendship…and for the Memories.

Lee Habeeb

Lee Habeeb hosts Our American Stories - telling stories that aren’t being told. Positive stories about generosity and courage, resilience and redemption, faith and love. Stories about the past and present. And stories about ordinary Americans who do extraordinary things each and every day. Stories from our listeners about their lives. And their history. In that pursuit, we hope we’ll be a place where listeners can refresh their spirit, and be inspired by our stories.

Lee was born in Soprano's country - northern NJ. His first love was and still is hoops - especially pick up three on three games and HORSE. After college, he spent some time in and out of a lot of things, including acting. He spent more time in law school at the University of Virginia - but never practiced. After a decade plus living in Oxford, he is finally considered a local, though he sometimes still feels like Joe Pesci in "My Cousin Vinny." Eating (and talking about eating), live music (and talking about music), spending time with his bride Valerie (a native Mississippian), daughter Reagan, (who loves riding her horse Levato and playing practical jokes on her dad), and 4 animals (two pugs and two cats), keep him out of trouble. And entertained.

Johnny Looch

I’ve been rockin’ and rollin’, stompin’ and strollin’ since the tender age of 13. I began my career under the tutelage of my Uncle Joe Booty, who taught me how to spin records in the heart of South Philadelphia.

In this close-knit community where family ties are strong, I got my first taste of the power of using music to unite family and friends. While attending Central High School and then Drexel University, I began working as a solo disc jockey at parties and weddings, which helped fund my college education (Class of Drexel ’94).

For more than 25 years I’ve played an instrumental role in some of the biggest moments in some lives, including weddings, christenings, bar/bat mitzvahs, birthday celebrations, retirement parties, and many other events. I feel as though I’ve been blessed to have touched the lives of so many people. It’s probably why most of my bookings come from word of mouth.

In recent years my reputation for helping to create unforgettable events has allowed me to expand from private celebrations to public entertainment. I’ve been lucky enough to have brought the “Looch Groove” to some of the hottest nighttime entertainment venues in the area such as Table 31, Philadelphia; Mia’s in Caesar’s Casino, Atlantic City (summertime); Ventura’s Greenhouse Restaurant, Margate (summertime) and the 2012 Hair O’ the Dog party, Philadelphia.

Whether it’s a private or public celebration, it is the common thread of bringing people together that continues to inspire me. No greater smile can be found than the one on my face when family and friends are dancing, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company.

John Catsimatidis

John was born on the Greek Island of Nisyros in 1948 and 6 months later his parents emigrated to New York City in search of a better life. They settled on 135th Street in Harlem and his father found work as a busboy and his mother was a stay-at-home mom.

John is a true son of New York; he was educated in both the parochial and public school systems earning his high school diploma from Brooklyn Tech. During his senior year, with just 8 credits remaining, John dropped out of NYU to work in the grocery business full-time. By his 25th birthday he was already a success with 10 Red Apple Supermarkets scattered along Broadway on Manhattan’s Upper Westside.

Now, four decades later the Red Apple Group has evolved into a diversified corporation that has holdings in the energy, aviation, retail and real estate sectors and over 8,000 employees, with approximately 2,000 located in New York City. John and his wife Margo Catsimatidis live on Manhattan’s Upper East side and are parents to 2 grown children; Andrea and John Jr.

John is a firm believer in giving back to the community and has been a strong supporter of the Police Athletic League for nearly 30 years.

Abusing callers, giving marginal legal advice and telling callers where to go is still probably the most enjoyable thing I do other than having intimate moments with my wife…No…It is the most enjoyable thing I do.”
