In addition to showcasing its brand-new Community Center on Central Avenue, the city hosted its annual Community Day on Saturday morning. In addition to a cycling action, free gifts, and face painting, there was free document shredding in the parking lot. The morning before the event, people had the opportunity to meet with county representatives, civic organization members, and municipal officials and staff at a municipal Council meeting. The 2026 beach tag art competition was honored by Mayor Leonard Desiderio, who also handed the yearly "Do the Right Things" awards.
