A public hearing on the dependability of New Jersey's electrical infrastructure is being considered by a senator from Ocean County, where thousands of customers were left without power over the hot holiday weekend. Assemblyman Alex Sauickie, a Republican from Ocean, urged the state Board of Public Utilities to convene a public hearing on New Jersey's electrical systems as strong thunderstorms continued to batter most of the state on Monday.
