Marigold, an adult capybara at the Cape May County Zoo, gave birth to a litter of capybara pups on June 18. According to a news statement issued by zoo officials on Wednesday, all six of the capybara pups are in good condition. The puppies can be seen from the bridge at the capybara habitat, but zoo authorities stated that they will periodically be taken off-environment to provide them with a break from the summertime visitors and weather. The keepers usually bring the capybaras inside the building for the night at 3:30 p.m., so the zoo advises visiting before then.
