The National Weather Service confirmed that a waterspout formed in the Delaware Bay off Cape May Point and briefly came ashore during severe thunderstorms that swept through the shore communities Tuesday evening. BreakingAC.com reports there were no reports of serious damage caused by the brief tornado after it touched down shortly after 6 p.m. The NWS plans to do a virtual survey as damage was sporadic and the tornado likely dissipated not long after it came ashore.
