Ocean City hosted the 2026 USLA Mid-Atlantic Craft Regional Lifeguard Championships on Thursday at the 59th Street Beach, bringing together professional lifeguards from four states. The qualifying event featured surfboat, paddleboard, ski races, and endurance events, giving competitors a chance to prepare for the national championships. Local lifeguards said the competition highlights the skill, training and responsibility required to protect beachgoers.
