Digital And Surveillance Technology

Gov. Mikie Sherrill signed a bill prohibiting businesses in New Jersey from charging customers different charges based on personal information they collect through digital and surveillance technology on Thursday. A one-year moratorium on the new usage of electronic shelf labels would also be imposed by the Fair Price Protection Act while the state investigates the effects. Stores can keep using the electronic labels they now have. "New Jersey families are already feeling the pressure of higher costs," stated Sherrill.
