At the Cape May County Zoo on Tuesday, a male wallaby, age two, broke free from his cage. According to zoo officials, staff members returned Cletus after successfully retrieving him from a nearby neighborhood. According to county officials, Cletus escaped throughout the night and was brought back in the morning. A thorough study, including chronology documentation, an evaluation of potential property impacts, and a more comprehensive security audit of animal holdings, is being carried out by county risk management.
