The Avalon Borough Council has given its blessing to amendments to a draft ordinance on boutique hotels in the commercial district.The council's approval May 27 was the last step in a long process that will result in an ordinance expected to be introduced at the borough’s next council meeting on June 10.The changes to the draft ordinance are that any proposed boutique hotel must at a minimum be open to the public from April through September. The hotel proposal must include a restaurant with full public access. Hotel stays must be for limited periods representing the transient nature of a hotel’s business.
