On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Atlantic County will host a family-friendly celebration at the county park to begin its local commemoration of America's 250th birthday. According to a news release issued by county officials on Monday, the free event is the first of several community events scheduled in advance of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. "This anniversary offers a time to reflect on the ideas that keep us together for the greater good, and America remains the world's oldest continuous democracy," County Executive Dennis Levinson said in a statement.
