A massive indoor sports complex planned for Cape May Airport has cleared a major local approval hurdle, according to SouthJerseyNewsBeat.com. The Lower Township Planning Board unanimously granted conditional site plan approval for the Aviation Sports Complex, a proposed 100,000-square-foot domed facility. Led by developers James Sutton III and Robert Buglak, the complex will feature a 75-foot-high dome and welcome center to house turf sports, hard courts, golf simulators, and event spaces. Developers expect construction to begin in the coming months, aiming for a potential opening next winter to serve year-round local athletics and regional tournaments.
