A $1.35 million coastal bulkhead extension project between 12th and 15th avenues has been finished by the city of North Wildwood. According to a news release issued by municipal authorities on Tuesday, the project extends an existing bulkhead south, forming a strengthened barrier intended to assist protect surrounding residences, public areas, and infrastructure from coastal damage. According to Mayor Salvatore Zampirri, "the dunes from 12th-15th Aves. have been especially sensitive to beach erosion in recent years, including frequent dune scarping and breaches that have placed neighboring public and private property at risk."
