If you hear fighter jets roaring overhead after dark over the next couple of weeks, don’t panic. It’s all part of a scheduled training exercise. The 177th Fighter Wing, based near Atlantic City International Airport in Egg Harbor Township, is letting South Jersey residents know it will be conducting night-flying training today and tomorrow and again July 28-30, 2026. Nighttime training is a routine part of preparing Air National Guard pilots for real-world missions. Flying after dark allows crews to sharpen the skills they’ll need in a variety of conditions.
