Douglas Shuster, 41, of Mays Landing, New Jersey, pleaded guilty Tuesday to making third-degree terroristic threats against his family. The guilty plea stems from a January 2026 recorded jailhouse phone call where Shuster threatened to kill his mother, sister, and brother-in-law if his mother sold the house he lived in. During the call, he vowed to beat his relatives, destroy their lives, and ensure they were left without homes or vehicles.Under the plea agreement before Judge Ralph Paolone, Shuster faces a recommended three-year state prison sentence at his September 8, 2026, sentencing.
