A presentation at the Board of Commissioners meeting last week suggested that replacing the Townsends Inlet and Corsons Inlet bridges may cost Cape May County over $400 million. By December, county authorities want to make a decision. The bridge replacement projects are now expected to take seven to ten years to complete. In a statement released on Tuesday, Commissioner Director Leonard C. Desiderio said, "These bridge replacements are vital investments in the safety and connectivity that distinguish Cape May County." "Our citizens and the thousands of tourists who depend on Ocean Drive every summer should have access to contemporary, dependable infrastructure.
