A Mays Landing man has been sentenced to five years in New Jersey State prison for committing two separate domestic violence strangulation attacks.A judge sentenced 27-year-old Jerry Vargas-Perez on Friday following his February guilty plea to two counts of second-degree aggravated assault.The charges stem from a November 2022 incident in Atlantic City and a July 2024 incident in Hamilton Township, both involving different female victims whom Vargas-Perez physically assaulted and strangled.Under the state's No Early Release Act, Vargas-Perez must serve at least 85% of his five-year sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
