LOCAL BEACHES FLAGGED FOR E. COLI

Several South Jersey waterways are being monitored for elevated levels of fecal bacteria, according to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. Some beaches tested positive for enterococcus or E. coli, including Baltimore Street and Delaware Avenue beaches in Cape May City, which have been flagged. No swimming areas are closed, but officials advise caution and to follow posted signs. Water testing will continue throughout the week.
