A Salem County man with a history of gun convictions will serve eight years in prison after a high-speed, drunk-driving stop on the Atlantic City Expressway.State Police pulled over 36-year-old Akeem Statin after receiving reports of him driving over 100 miles per hour. Troopers searching his vehicle discovered an open container of alcohol alongside a loaded handgun hidden inside the center console. Because of his prior weapons convictions, Statin pleaded guilty to second-degree firearm offenses leading to his multi-year sentence.
