A 42-year-old Atlantic City man has admitted to starting a fire outside of his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in the High Gates high-rise last summer, triggering what authorities called “torrential flooding.” The Courier Post reports Khalil M. Washington, a South Pennsylvania Avenue resident, was in Atlantic County Superior Court on April 24 to enter a negotiated guilty plea. He admitted to one count of second-degree causing widespread damage, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.Washington, who is in the county jail according to court records, was indicted in October on three charges.
