The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $21.6 million contract for the replenishment projects in Sea Isle City and Strathmere on Thursday, bringing them one step closer to completion. According to the government, Norfolk Dredging Company of Chesapeake, Virginia, was awarded the contract for dune restoration and beach replenishment. In Sea Isle, the project is anticipated to start in early June.
