The Division of Elections has begun the process of removing 4,500 of the 6,600 noncitizens who were mistakenly registered to vote in New Jersey between June 2023 and June 2024 from Garden State voter registers, according to Governor Sherrill on Tuesday. According to a statement from Sherrill, the Motor Vehicle Commission has sent letters to those affected by the software problem, and the remaining registrations are being forwarded to county election authorities for further examination.
