The Chancery Division of the Atlantic County Superior Court ruled that a former Pleasantville company administrator must reimburse approximately $84,000 in accrued sick time that was paid in violation of state law. According to a report released in November by the Office of the State Comptroller, Linda Peyton was wrongfully paid $83,986 for accumulated sick leave that she was not legally entitled to, as well as an additional $81,737 in severance under a local policy that the agency deemed wasteful and susceptible to abuse.
