The Cape May-Lewes Ferry's updated price schedule is anticipated to bring in an extra $1.5 million a year to help close the service's operational deficit. At their meeting on April 21, the commissioners of the Delaware River and Bay Authority unanimously adopted the new fare schedule. The modifications, which go into effect on June 1, were created at a virtual public meeting on February 9. "Even in times of rising fuel and operating costs, our goal is to keep fares as low as possible while simultaneously reducing our operating deficit with minor fare hikes."
