A quiet road along the Egg Harbor City–Mullica Township border is poised for a dramatic makeover as a local filmmaker prepares to convert a former industrial site into a full‑scale studio complex.Jonathan Sachar, a film producer from South Jersey, is awaiting final approval to build Atlantic Motion Pictures Studios. To build it, his company will clear hundreds of trees near Hamburg Avenue and Moss Mill Road, a site formerly occupied by several businesses and a landfill that has been overtaken by wilderness. SI Live reports city officials value the project at about $123 million and support 50 to 100 jobs, Mayor Lisa Jiampetti said. The project is partially funded by a $1 million grant from New Jersey to Egg Harbor City. The city has prioritized finding economic opportunities since previous administrations declared the entire municipality an area in need of redevelopment in 2009.
