At the committee meeting on June 8, Upper township administrator James Van Zlike read a statement on behalf of the township in response to residents' concerns regarding a recent cybercrime. The statement gave a summary of the timing and procedure for resolving the breach. According to Van Zlike, the township conducted a challenging investigation between learning about the violation in early December and sending out the warnings in late May. Van Zlike stated, "The municipality must prioritize security systems and data accuracy before issuing public updates because investigations of this sort are exceedingly difficult."
