27 year old Devon Banks from Mays Landing, NJ, was sentenced to seven years New Jersey State prison after pleading guilty to certain persons not to possess weapons, eluding, and two counts of possession with the intent to distribute CDS. On May 24, 2024, officers from the Pleasantville Police Department observed a tan color Hyundai Elantra making an illegal turn and cutting off multiple vehicles. When police activated lights and sirens to pull the vehicle over, the vehicle sped up and would not pull over. Thereafter, police lost sight the vehicle. The vehicle crashed at the intersection of North New Road and California Avenue. Once located, the occupants of the vehicle pointed to a male who took off on foot. Devon Banks was soon after captured by police and identified as the driver of the vehicle.
