Cape May County in conjunction with Cape May Couty Sheriff Robert Nolan, will host a brief ceremony Thursday morning to fly the Sojourn 250 Flag at Gerald M. Thornton Veterans’ Cemetery. The flag is part of a nationwide traveling initiative that honors fallen veterans by flying the same banner at veteran cemeteries across the Country. The Sojourn 250 Flag began its U.S. journey in October 2025 and has been flown at cemeteries throughout the United States and in U.S. territories. It arrives in Cape May County tomorrow and will remain through Thursday, May 22, before continuing to the next state. This is the only time this flag will be flown in New Jersey.
