A onetime Hammonton political leader accused of bilking an elderly woman out of her home, family business and hundreds of thousands of dollars was ordered released from jail Wednesday. According to BreakingAC.com, James Donio, 50, is accused of using his nearly lifetime friendship with Dorothy Orlandini, 81, to orchestrate a years-long scheme that cost her $914,200, including her family’s business, Inferrera’s Market. Donio’s lack of any criminal history, ties to the community and the complicated nature of the case led to Judge William Todd Miller’s decision to release Donio.
