At the request of his lawyer, the detention hearing for a Hammonton man accused of defrauding an 80-year-old woman of over $914,000 was postponed on Thursday, according to court officials. Judge Todd Miller of Atlantic County Superior Court has scheduled James M. Donio, 50, to appear on Tuesday at 9 a.m. Donio, the former president of the independent political organization Hammonton First, is accused of money laundering, theft by unlawful taking or disposal, theft by deceit, and fabricating or tampering with records.
