On Wednesday, September 30, Kevin O. Crafton, 49, of Egg Harbor Township was ordered to remain detained in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on charges of second-degree Theft by Deception, Impersonation, Computer Criminal Activity, Forgery, and Falsifying Records for allegedly orchestrating a complex contractor fraud scheme and defrauding Brigantine homeowners of over $360,000. It is alleged that from 2024 to the present, the defendant, though LDC Construction, was engaging in the performance of home improvement services. Crafton impersonated an architect, engineer, and attorney to convince the victims that they owed costly fines and penalties associated with residential structural defects.
