A federal audit found Atlantic City Electric noncompliant in five financial areas over a five-year period, resulting in customer overcharges. The utility company claims its initial analysis shows the overbilling amounts to less than two cents per month over a full year. However, Congressman Jeff Van Drew and local customers strongly reject that figure after watching their electric bills double or triple during the same period. They insist the utility's response fails to account for the massive price hikes impacting South Jersey families.
