According to a recent proposal by U.S. Senator Andy Kim, every child in America would be enrolled in a federal health insurance program at birth and be eligible for free benefits through age 26. At a time when millions of children in the nation lack healthcare or have inadequate insurance, the New Jersey Democrat's plan, known as MediKids, would automatically enroll youngsters in Medicaid and provide them with 100% coverage.
