AC Man Pleads Guilty To Endangering The Welfare Of A Child

An Atlantic City man has pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child in a case that began when two young children came outside a home and told police their mother had been attacked, according to SouthJerseyNewsBeat.com. Yusef Gordy, 37, pleaded guilty Thursday, Oct. 1, to third-degree endangering the welfare of a child before Superior Court Judge Daniel Kurkowski.Under the plea agreement, prosecutors will recommend a three-year New Jersey State Prison sentence.The case stems from a Dec. 18, 2025 domestic violence incident in Atlantic City.

Wildwood Launches Project To Widen Boardwalk

While neighboring North Wildwood prepares to rebuild two sections of its Boardwalk this offseason, the City of Wildwood is launching a major project of its own — including a nearly $4.9 million reconstruction that will make part of the Boardwalk 14 feet wider. SouthJerseyNewsBeat.com reports a large construction zone is now closed to the public as Wildwood moves ahead with another phase of its multiyear effort to rebuild and modernize the iconic wooden walkway. It's scheduled to remain closed into May of next year.

Ilitch Group Will Spend $14 Million More For Expansion Of The Cove

Just two months after a change in ownership gave the Ilitch organization full control of Ocean Casino Resort, the Boardwalk property is putting another $14 million into Atlantic City.Ocean announced plans this week for a major expansion and transformation of The Cove, its high-limit slot area, continuing a yearslong investment campaign that has poured hundreds of millions of dollars into the former Revel property, reports SouthJerseyNewsBeat.com. The redesigned Cove is expected to open in early 2027 and will encompass 11,935 square feet — approximately 60% larger than the current space.

Pedestrian Killed In AC

A pedestrian was struck and killed early Sunday morning on Pacific Avenue near Tropicana Atlantic City, according to police. SouthJerseyNewsBeat.com reports Atlantic City police responded at approximately 12:30 a.m. Sunday to the 2700 block of Pacific Avenue for a report of a person struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.Police have not publicly identified the person who was killed. The driver involved in the crash stopped and is cooperating with investigators, according to police. No charges had been announced as of Sunday evening.
